What is Job Interview? How can we attend interview?

A job interview is an interview consisting of a conversation between a job applicant and a representative of an employer which is conducted to assess whether the applicant should be hired.Interviews are one of the most popularly used devices for employee selection.Interviews vary in the extent to which the questions are structured, from a totally unstructured and free-wheeling conversation, to a structured interview in which an applicant is asked a predetermined list of questions in a specified order;structured interviews are usually more accurate predictors of which applicants will make suitable employees, according to research studies.

Today, I’m here not explaining in complex details, but more to straight to the point and the question. As today, among all the company will keep asking the same question to the candidates.

  1. Tell me about yourself. / Introduce yourself.
  2. Do you know about our company?
  3. If company hire you, what you can contribute to us?
  4. How to handle the challenges and stress when you facing some issue cannot be handle by yourself?
  5. What is your hardest time when you working with current/previous company?
  6. What is the goal for your next 5–10 years?
  7. Why you quit for current or previous job?

Above is the question that you have to take consider since all the way interviewer will keep asking the same question.

Introduce yourself

For me as an IT career employee. No such things need to say not confidently or still in the midst of don’t know what I need to talk. When people ask introduce yourself, we can tell them our basic information like hometown, what Universities we study or what are the course you take-in. And some info about your current job scope as well. So most people are trying to promote themselves on skill set or what kind of technology capability to achieve. It is a correct way, no such things to say no or not standard.

Company Background

Not all interviewers will ask this question, but we still have to do some research on it as well since it could be your future company. What you want to do is, search the company name at google.com and find out anything related to this company and review all information like recruitment review, ex-employee review at a job recruitment website like Jobstreet, etc.
Find out what are the business solution are they doing, and also there company objective as well. I’m not a high profile person, people always told me I’m a low profile person who not been keep highlighted in the list but will fully support their idea.

Contribution to company

What we can contribute to the company? Fresh graduate is that can contribute to? My answer is yes. None of us cannot contribute to the company, it’s all depending on your interest or your ambition. I like IT, I love IT, I want to know more and more about IT. That’s how I bring myself on career. There are a lot of challenges that we need to be facing like Manager, team members, customer complaint, timeline. All these things are one of the fact to demotivate you, so you have to find a way out how to handle this. The company will only like you when you have contributed something.

Handle the challenges / stress

I think none of us, not facing this issue. Challenging levels and stress level. The more workload you are, the more stress will be. Try not to bring it on, and adjust your work schedule on minimizing level, so that you can have more time to release your tension/stress. After working hour is your own time, don’t push yourself into maximum, company will only see what they want to see. Nobody will know what you are faced with.

Hardest time when in company

Not to say some of the company will asking you on this too. It’s depending how you want to use your own knowledge based. If you willing to tell them the trust, please do but if not you can tell them on your skills or the environment issue.

Goal for next 5–10 years

Do you think about it? After 5 years what you need to achieve? Or 10 years later what do you want to get? It’s good to think about it. We have to set a goal for us, at least it is a hope for yourself, not for others.

Why should I Quit Job?

Most probably among all of us will have those same reason like not happy with the company, underpaid my salary, communication between team member is not good, company shrink already, my boss treat me very bad, and any of those reason everyday we can hear but think about that as well does the company did not help you grow more mature and experience?

So when we answering the interviewer, we can try to give it a chances to ourselves tell them what’s the experience that cannot satisfy to you and what kind of expectation want them to give us after we contribute to them. Well, those are the question that you have to think before you answer it. If you ask me, I prefer to tell them what kind of lacking in current company that I can’t archive and what kind of investment I would like to give a try even we know might be they will let you go for it or they just wanted to utilize you. I don’t mind that if they wish to give us chances rather than none. Among all the company not all will give us chances on our own learning path rather than they order you to learn something they want to do. I don’t mind how long. what I care is do I can or can’t?

Summary

In summary, try to find out a way that can comfort yourself and a good habit and confident to answer the question when interviewer asking. If not a part of your job, be honest to answer the question, because the question they asking it could be one of the cases already happened before. You have to do handle it after successfully joined.
